What we collect
- DevConsensus has no accounts or comments and sets no cookies.
- Page views. Each page load sends the page path, the referring site's domain (for example news.ycombinator.com), any
utm_sourcetag in the link, and your country as worked out by Cloudflare. We do not store IP addresses, user agents, or any id that links one visit to another. Known bots are not counted. - Product events. We record a small set of actions — newsletter form viewed, submitted or succeeded, report/CTA clicks, outbound clicks, scroll depth, and search opened/selected. An event includes the page path, placement, referrer domain,
utm_source, country, and an A/B variant. It does not include an IP address, user agent, or cross-visit id. - A/B variant. A random
a/bvalue is stored in your browser's localStorage so the same copy is shown on repeat visits. It is not a cookie and can be cleared from browser settings. - Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from, your country and the signup date. We use it only to send the monthly report, never sell or share it, and delete it on request.
- The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data (IP address, browser user agent, requested page) to serve and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Fonts are self-hosted from this domain. No third-party font request is made.
Advertising
